Anna Rather grew up in Houston, Texas where she
graduated from the Houston School of Performing and
visual Arts. She was awarded scholarships to school at The
Glassel School of Art as a teen. She has a B.F.A. from
University of North Texas in printmaking. She moved to
Muncie because Ball State University awarded her an
assistantship in the printmaking department for the
Masters of Arts program. Since she has been at BSU, she
has won third place for the Multicultural Club logo design
contest, a Certificate of Achievement Award (Art Mart),
Fine Arts Award, a Creative Project Grant, the Alpha
Associate Chapter Merit Award for the 105th Annual
Exhibition, Richmond, Indiana Museum Show, and Third
place in React to Art Contest and many more. She has also
been invited by various sponsors to show her artwork on
the Ball State campus. Recently she graduated from the
San Francisco Art Institute with her M.F.A. and is pursuing
a career in her art field.
This particular piece deals with the disconnect between what a
person says and what is being understood.
